The Japanese Swordsmanship Society (Nippon Budô Sôgô Dôjô, Inc.) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to preserving, teaching and promoting in the United States the Japanese kobudô or old martial arts of Japan.

It is the aim of the Society to foster the propagation of the various forms of budô by helping with coordination among dôjô that are genuinely interested in preserving and practicing these arts as authentically as possible. To further these goals, the Society has arranged for instructors and senior practitioners of these arts to provide classes and seminars for its members and for guests from other schools.

The Society is interested in all the kobudô and coordinates classes in several different arts. It provides for a corporate shell to various subsidiary dôjô that teach kobudô. This provides for an efficient system of support for dôjô that normally would be too small to provide for themselves. Among the services provided by JSS are the rental of space for classes, publicity, membership services, and insurance. Their own instructors and senior members for technical teaching of their art operate each of the subsidiary dôjô. They are responsible for the training of those students studying with them. They in turn coordinate with their own federations and their own sensei and senpai.
